UNINTERRUPTED FILM FESTIVAL
POWERED BY TRIBECA FESTIVAL
Role: Creative Director
UNINTERRUPTED’s second year of throwing the UNINTERRUPTED Film Festival in partnership with Tribeca was one for the books. Being The Athlete Storytelling Company, it was important for us to bring that to life in a multitude of ways over this 2-day event. We showcased premieres of athlete-story films and documentaries, including HBO Sport’s “Charlie Hustle & the Matter of Pete Rose” and UNINTERRUPTED Original “A Radical Act: Renee Montgomery”; live podcast tapings from “Podcast P with Paul George” featuring special guest Lil Dicky, and a conversation with NBA Champion Matt Barnes, All-Star Trae Young, and iconic athlete-turned-actor Omari Hardwick; “State of the Game” conversations with 12 professional athletes including Flau’jae Johnson; post-screening panels with the great Al Michaels and the late Pete Rose; and the first-ever, amateur athlete-story film submissions, where we awarded the first ever UNINTERRUPTED Film Festival “Judge’s Pick” award, chosen by our panel of judges – LeBron James, Naomi Osaka, and Joel Embiid.
With help from our partners at Tribeca, HBO, ESPN, Roku and Wave Sports, we were able to garner over 1.3 billion (with a B) impressions on social, including press from Sports Business Journal, LA Magazine and Yahoo! Entertainment, to name a few. This event was a labor of love from an incredibly multi-talented team, and a prime example of how creating IRL experiences can have extended life and reach on digital platforms.
